Manuela Veling is a both a Medical Doctor and Geographer. After having finished her studies in International Developing Studies, she felt that she wanted something more. Therefore, she took up medicine as a ‘second’ study, and has since then been very active travelling around the world, visiting hospitals and clinics in developing countries, to get the full idea what working as a doctor in developing countries would be like. Her travels and internships have brought her to Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico and South Africa. It is in this last country where she will start working in a very small rural hospital in the middle of nowhere. To try and make a difference.
